Bend in the Bow is a long-term plan of the City of Calgary to link a series of regional parks on the Bow River, including Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, Inglewood Wildlands, and Pearce Estate Park—parks rich in natural history and cultural heritage. The vision is a series of parks that tell stories revealed through nature, and education.

Haddad|Drugan was part of a multidisciplinary design team including landscape architects, biologists, conservationists, water resource engineers, landscape architects, biologists, conservationists, reclamation specialists, water resource engineers, environmental educators, historians, and artists who created the Bend in the Bow Redevelopment Plan through an extensive process including community engagement workshops, fields studies, and other methods.

The resultant Bend in the Bow Public Art Plan identifies opportunities for incorporating site-specific public art into the development, fabric, community, and experience of Bend in the Bow. It is a framework that fosters the creation of engaging and transformative art conceived to cultivate meaningful connections with the environment, support habitat-forming processes, and inspire and educate the public about the natural resilience and cultural significance of the place.
